March 25, 2020 – Due to school closures and government guidelines regarding COVID-19, team submission deadlines have been extended. The Final Prototype Design Report is now due on June 30, 2020. The Final Prototype Design Presentation will be on July 25, 2020. If necessary, the final presentations may be held digitally. Stay tuned for more information!

Form a team and use your skills to compete in a prototyping challenge!

Each team must apply once and then team members will receive a link to register individually.

Milestone 1: February 10, 2020 | Milestone 2: March 8, 2020 | Prototype Design: June 30, 2020 | Final Competition: July 25, 2020

The IDEAA Challenge is a prototyping competition for high school students to solve a problem or challenge. The teams will work towards a solution using concepts of design, engineering, prototyping, automation, mechatronics, coding, research, and science among others. Throughout the competition, team members will have opportunities to attend prototyping and project management workshops. Prototyping equipment and limited materials will be available for the teams to get started. During the final competition, teams will present their ideas and solutions to a panel of judges. The winning teams will receive the following prizes:

1st Place – $3,000    |    2nd Place – $2,000    |    3rd Place – $1,000

The ideal team for the IDEAA Challenge is 2-4 high school students who enjoy working, learning, and creating innovative solutions. The topic of the Challenge this year will be renewable energy and the environment. The actual challenge will be revealed at the Kickoff.
